Chronicles from the North PART 4

Welcome, Adventurers, to Chronicles from the North! This week, we introduce Anari, the Prodigy, a master of fire and ice whose intellect and magical prowess make her an invaluable asset on the battlefield.
LORE
Born to a prestigious Helrin noble and a Tenrin commoner, Anari was marked as an outsider from birth, facing barriers that limited her opportunities despite her noble lineage. However, her mastery of both water and fire magic set her apart, allowing her to rise through the ranks at the Hireian College, an elite academic institution, where she consistently outperformed her peers.
Despite her brilliance, her mixed heritage kept her from advancing further within Helrin society. Realizing she had reached an unbreakable ceiling, Anari took on the role of Helrin envoy to the Adventurers’ Guild, a decision that led her to the treacherous peaks of Mt. Byodo.
PROFILE CHARACTERISTICS AND PLAYSTYLE
Level I
At Level I, Anari is a fragile but highly versatile support and control mage. Her INT is her only standout stat, while her ARM 2 and HP 1 make her the squishiest member of the team. Keeping her safe will be crucial, as she is unlikely to survive direct confrontations.
Her true strength lies in her spellcasting. With Art of Enchanting I, she can enhance allies’ Attacks using Fire and Water Enchantments, while her Enchanter Class ensures she applies these buffs with ease.
In addition, she gains access to a new art, Art of Cryomancy II, which provides two low-power offensive spells—one with Knockback for repositioning enemies and another with Slow to hinder movement. She also acquires an AoE Spell Immobilize for battlefield control and a condition-removal Spell to support allies.
At this stage, Anari is all about utility, setting up advantageous situations for the party.

Level II
At Level II, Anari’s utility skyrockets. While her HP remains low, her other stats improve across the board, making her less vulnerable.
The biggest change comes in her magical abilities. Enchanting II adds two new enchantments—one that reflects damage back at attackers, and another that ignores enemy Armor, making it invaluable against heavily armored foes. Cryomancy III introduces powerful battlefield control tools, including a large-area AoE Spell that transforms terrain into dangerous terrain, slowing enemy movement. Another is a Spell that completely immobilizes a single target for at least a turn, though it requires Mana to cast.
At this level, Anari fully embraces her role as a tactical enabler, controlling enemy movement and enhancing her allies’ offensive capabilities.
Level III
At Level III, Anari finally gains an HP boost, improving her survivability. Her INT skyrockets to 17, cementing her as one of the strongest casters in the game.
While her Cryomancy remains the same, Enchanting III introduces two exceptional defensive Spells, further reinforcing her role as a protective support caster.
At this stage, Anari is a battlefield manipulator, support specialist, and control mage—capable of turning even the most desperate situations to her team’s advantage.
(Note: We’re keeping her Light and Dark versions a secret for now—you’ll have to wait until the game releases to discover them!)

UPGRADES AND SYNERGY CARDS
Unique Upgrade: Arcane Monocle
Anari’s signature upgrade is the Arcane Monocle, an item exclusive to her. This acts as a safety net, allowing your team to reset the current Encounter and try again at the cost of valuable Time—a crucial resource in reaching the summit of Mt. Byodo. Essentially, Anari foresees the immediate future, letting you retake your actions.
Other Recommended Upgrades
- Survivability Boosts – Items that increase HP or provide Medicine are highly valuable, as Anari remains fragile throughout the game.
- Caster Staffs – Magical staffs found on the mountain can further amplify her spellcasting abilities.
- Ranged Enhancements – Certain Upgrades can boost her offensive casting potential, making her a more dangerous long-range threat.
Synergy Cards
Anari excels with setup-focused Synergy cards that enhance spellcasting and battlefield control rather than direct offensive output.
Additionally, there is a specific set of Synergy cards designed for enchantments, which complement her kit perfectly.
CONCLUDING THOUGHTS
Anari is the quintessential support mage, with an extensive toolbox that allows her to adapt to any situation. While she requires careful positioning and protection, her ability to enhance allies, control enemy movement, and manipulate the battlefield makes her one of the most valuable heroes in the game.
Her strength doesn’t come from brute force, but rather from knowing which Spell to use and when. With the right team composition and strategy, Anari can make the impossible possible—turning the tide of battle with precise magical control!
