Chronicles from the North PART 9

Welcome back to Chronicles from the North, where we explore the many facets of the upcoming Northern Wind stand-alone expansion. Today, we continue our introduction of the characters with our resident “cat lady”—Na’ra!
LORE
Na’ra was born into the Mau tribe, one of many living around the hidden Valley of Life in the northern reaches of the Sand Kingdoms. The Valley is a lush river basin filled with dense vegetation, ancient ruins, and powerful, ancient magic. Its fiercely independent tribes live in deep harmony with the surrounding nature, placing tradition and balance above all else.
The Mau are a chimeric tribe, gifted with powerful shapeshifting abilities and often innately attuned to mana and magic. Na’ra, though gifted in shapeshifting, showed no signs of magical affinity—until tragedy struck.
Aspiring to become a Warclaw, a warrior and protector of her tribe, Na’ra was close to fulfilling her calling when war broke out. The Sand Kingdoms, seeking to claim the Valley, brought devastation. Her clan was decimated and pushed to the brink. It was in this moment of despair that Na’ra awakened her hidden potential—the gift of Veil Watching, the ability to commune with spirits.
The Guild offered Na’ra and other tribes their assistance in reclaiming and protecting their ancestral lands as well as granting them autonomy. In exchange, Na’ra and many other tribes pledged allegiance to the Guild. Several decades later, Na’ra was dispatched to the far-flung war camps of the Empire as one of the Guild’s most skilled specialists.

PROFILE CHARACTERSTUCS AND PLAYSTYLE

Level I
Na’ra starts as a fast utility piece with promising damage potential. Unlike other Heroes, she immediately gains access to Natural Accessories, unique tools and weapons born from her shapeshifting abilities. Her stats are average, but with high SPD and AG, she thrives on mobility. Abilities like Leap and Acute Senses enhance her movement and utility.
Her true power at this level lies in Necromancy III. This grants access to a suite of buffs, a healing Spell (the first we’ve seen in this category), and the rare ability to control lesser undead. Combined with her Artificer Class, she becomes a potent support and utility powerhouse—especially in skilled hands.

Level II
Na’ra’s progression takes a unique path. Her magical capabilities plateau, while her physical prowess climbs. She gains more HP, improved stats across the board, and a second Natural Accessory. Hit and Retreat joins her arsenal, allowing her to strike and reposition with ease. At this point, she begins to shift from a utility role into that of a deadly finisher—striking fast and hard when defenses are down.

Level III
This trend continues. Her stats reach formidable heights: SPD 4, HP 3, OFF 16, AG 13. With the addition of Dash and the Vitalist Class, she becomes a mobile bruiser—capable of dealing strong damage while supporting allies with healing when needed. She’s fast, durable, and dangerous.
UPGRADES AND SYNERGY CARDS
Na’ra has access to several unique Upgrades—from enhanced claws to improved armor and power of her attacks. These can be freely swapped between Quests, allowing you to tailor her build to your party’s needs. Items that boost her mobility or survivability are especially effective.
When it comes to Synergy Cards, she’s very similar to Seigen. If you equip her with setup-focused Synergies, she shines as a mobile support. If you lean into payoff Synergies, she becomes a terrifying damage dealer—ideal for shredding through bosses and elite threats alike.
CONCLUDING THOUGHTS
Na’ra is a dynamic Hero whose playstyle evolves dramatically across Levels. She offers immense flexibility, able to shift between utility, support, and high damage based on your party’s needs and how you build her. In a party full of specialists, Na’ra is your adaptable wildcard—ready to fill any gap and rise to any challenge.
