After concluding their studies at the Grand Academy and earning their Warrant of Praxis, these young arcanists first fulfill their obligation to the institution. As is custom, each graduate must mentor at least one younger adept, repaying their sojourn by guiding the next generation through the rigorous arcane path.

Once this duty is complete, many choose to distance themselves from the academic halls, seeking freedom beyond scrolls and structured doctrine. Though they rarely attain further official recognition, they begin to bridge the gap between theory and the world by combining their arcane talents with practical experience earned through fieldwork and adversity.

Warranted arcanists are in high demand—sought after for surveys of ancient ruins, the recovery of lost relics, or negotiations involving unstable magical phenomena. Their versatility makes them prized agents of both scholarship and ambition.

Yet, not all follow paths of simple service or scholarship. Some come to a stark realization: they want more. More than books, more than orders, more than duty. And so, they pursue ends of their own making—some noble, others… less so. In the wide and waiting world, the lines blur between discovery and theft, between salvation and obsession.

"I go wherever I please, and do whatever I please. Others read about fantastical adventures; I live them."
