Slayer Dragoon

Slayer Dragoon

In the service of a Matriarch, the slayer dragoons are royal scouts, lookouts that survey the cavernous outskirts of the thenian underworld. Most commonly, however, we find them on the surface of Thenion. They each represent the elite of scouts tasked with endeavoring on special missions – their finest trade being the extermination of large beasts. This fact is reflected in their choice of weapons, which are almost always oversized for any normal situation.
As they travel alone or in small groups, a slayer dragoon is never far from its mount – lupus rex*, a creature most in tune with the vast volcanic terrain iconic for the continent.
It is noteworthy that some slayer dragoons leave royal service or head to more faraway lands. There is always a great demand for them, especially in the Adventurers’ Guild.

*Lupus Rex, also known as the great wolfcat, is a large species, a member of the family Felicanidae. Contrary to common belief, it is a pure species, despite sharing many features of both large predator cats and wolves common to the Thenian and the Helian continents. The density of its fur and the size of its ears change depending on location. In warmer climates, its coat is thinner and its ears more prominent, while the opposite is true for colder environments. Similarly, fur pattern and hue reflect its habitat; the animal’s pelt is tinged with blueish tones on Thenion, while we can see warmer or greenish tones on Helion. Generally, it is an animal well adjusted to its environment. They are specially adapted to the Thenian surface, trained as specialized mounts but kept as domesticated pets, widely loved by the Thenian peoples for their loyalty and fondness of Rin.
