Season 2 - Quests Overview

Welcome, Adventurers!
Today, we're taking a closer look at the Competitive Quests for Season 2. We've brought back five of the six quests from Season 1.
The only quest leaving the rotation is Secure the Artifact, which proved to be too one-sided when it came to scoring. Fighting over a single objective, where a large portion of the victory points goes to the player who reaches it first, left the opposing player with very few opportunities to recover. For that reason, Secure the Artifact is taking a break (at least until next season).
We've also updated the Scheme rules across all competitive quests. The new system gives players more flexibility when selecting Schemes, making it much less likely they'll end up with one that's impossible to complete.
The only gameplay change to a returning quest affects Treasure Hunt. Models carrying Treasure can no longer leave the battlefield before Round 4, giving opponents a greater opportunity to reclaim the treasure, or stop their rivals from escaping with the spoils.
Now, let's take a look at the brand-new additions!
This season introduces 4 new Competitive Quests, each offering its own unique twist on the battlefield.
Quarter War
First up is Quarter War, the first quest to feature the new Corner Deployment.
The objective is simple: control the table quarters.
Will you march straight through the center and engage the enemy, or outmanoeuvre them along the flanks? The choice is yours. Just remember, models must be fully inside a quarter to control it. If they're standing on the dividing line, they don't count toward either side.

Clue Trail
Next is Clue Trail, where both warbands race to follow a shifting trail of clues leading to hidden treasure.
The quest features four Objectives placed along the center line. Players interact with them much like they do in Magic Stones, scoring 1 Victory Point for each claimed Objective at the end of every round.
Once an Objective has scored, however, your opponent immediately moves it 6", constantly reshaping the battlefield. Every point scored changes the layout of future objectives, creating new opportunities and challenges, for both players.

Snail Chase
Third is Snail Chase, where rival warbands compete to herd valuable Ink Snails to safety.
Herding Ink Snails is a dangerous but well-paid profession, making it the perfect reason for rival adventurers to come to blows.
This is our first quest featuring side-specific Objectives. Your goal is to push as many Snails as possible onto your opponent's half of the battlefield. If your Snails end up on their side, you score points. If your opponent's Snails are there instead, you're preventing them from scoring.
The result is a lively and constantly shifting battlefield as both players push and pull the Snails back and forth.

Toxic Infestation
Last, but certainly not least, is Toxic Infestation.
The most complex quest in the new lineup is also one of the most dynamic.
Using Corner Deployment, players must destroy two Objective markers representing spreading Vines. Interacting with these Objectives requires Mana, which can either be generated normally or earned by wounding the Tier III Hostile, the Avatar of Infestation, which enters the battlefield at the beginning of Round 2.
There are two ways to earn Victory Points: destroying the Vines as they slowly spread toward the center of the battlefield, or defeating the Avatar itself.
Every decision matters. Do you split your forces between both Objectives, or focus on one side? Do you spend Mana clearing the infestation, or attack the Avatar to generate even more? There are multiple viable strategies, making this one of the most tactical quests in the Season 2 lineup.
