Helian League

FACTION

Holding the highest esteem among the four great factions of Calad, the Helian League is a radiant nation of the Rin peoples, whose lands lie in the southern reaches of the world. Thriving in all aspects of civilization, the League is guided by the dual principles of upholding ancient tradition and securing prosperity for all within its realm.

The Helian League is a marvel of structured society and refined governance. It stands as Calad’s dominant naval power and a foremost player in world diplomacy. Their technological advancement and ability to project military force across the globe give them unmatched influence.

The League's greatest triumph lies in its leadership during the war against the otherworldly invaders—an act that cemented its reputation as Calad’s foremost military power.

To this day, the Helian League remains the only major faction capable of supporting and maintaining a large, professional standing fleet—the Expeditionary Force.

HELRIN

The Helian League is largely governed by the Helrin—a race of Rin, one of the first mortal species believed to have been created during the Age of Elders, unlike humans, who are not native to the world of Calad. The Helrin carry a deep reservoir of ancestral knowledge, with histories and memories rich in ancient lore. A single Rin can live for several centuries, with most reaching around two hundred years—witnessing the rise and fall of many human generations.

When the world teetered on the edge of ruin during the Age of Dusk, and the land threatened to be consumed entirely by the obscuring haze, a hero arose—bearing a vision bestowed by the Sun Goddess, Hiperia. As the Haze crept ever closer, the last of the Rin in their homeland faced mounting despair. With no other recourse, they placed their faith in the hero’s prophecy and set sail into the unknown.

Enduring numerous trials upon the harsh seas, they persevered, unwavering in spirit. At last, they beheld a clearing in the eternal mist—and with it, the fulfillment of the prophecy: a new land, untouched and sunlit. There, they found lush nature, bathed in light and vibrant with life.

Having escaped the choking blackness, they rejoiced beneath the sun’s warm rays, a sensation foreign to them for many months. In gratitude, they honored Hiperia as their divine savior and praised all that she created. In her name, they christened the land Helion, and called themselves Helrin—Rin of the Sun.

Rin are born with an innate affinity for the arcane. Among them, the Helrin are most commonly gifted with fire affinity, a trait that has become emblematic of their identity.

Physically, Helrin are often distinguished by warmer skin tones, and—depending on their elemental affinities and place of birth—commonly bear white, golden, or red hair, and their signature pointy ears.

To outsiders, they are often seen as proud and contolling. To themselves, they are simply fulfilling the destiny granted by their gods—to bring light to a darkened world.

Unlike their more unruly kin—the Rin of the Moon—the Helrin embody harmony and refinement.

Helrin are known for their personal honor, spirituality, and kindness. They channel their energy into the collective good while maintaining a deep reverence for history and the wisdom of the old world.

Yet even they are not immune to ambition, pride, nor to the irresistible allure of glory.

GAMEPLAY

The Helian League is the most balanced of the four major factions in terms of gameplay. Their units benefit from a combination of arcane prowess and high-quality equipment, making them both resilient and effective in combat. What truly sets the Helian League apart is their strong unit synergy—each model brings something vital to the party, whether through support abilities, elemental magic, or tactical versatility. This interconnectedness allows Helian combat groups to adapt to a wide range of situations, making them powerful and flexible on the battlefield. However, this strength comes with a caveat: as individual models fall, with fewer units to support and empower one another the group's overall effectiveness can decline.
